The City of Gaffney will hold its annual Irishfest event this year on Friday, March 19th, 6:00-9:00pm. During this event, the City will celebrate its Irish heritage and that of town founder, Michael Gaffney, along with the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
Festivities will begin at 6:00pm on Friday night, March 19th. The City of Gaffney Visitors Center and the Cherokee Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) will host silhouette photos (bring your own camera), face painting, light refreshments, and a live art demonstration by artist Fred Knowles.
Children and adults of all ages are invited to the Visitors Center and Art Gallery to decorate a “Blarney Stone”-a stone said to bring good luck-which they will take home with them. They will also be able to help paint two large canvases, which will then be on display at the Visitors Center and at City Hall for the remainder of the month of March.
